Insurance & Costs

Clear Answers Before Your First Visit

Nobody should have to guess what psychiatric care will cost. Here is exactly which insurance plans Cobalt Psychiatry accepts, how we verify your benefits, and how self-pay works — so there are no surprises at your first visit.

Insurance Plans We Accept

Cobalt Psychiatry is in-network with:

  • Aetna
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oklahoma
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas
  • Cigna
  • Healthcare Highways
  • HealthChoice (Oklahoma)
  • UnitedHealthcare and Optum

Those plans cover most commercially insured adults in Oklahoma and Texas. HealthChoice is the plan carried by many Oklahoma state, education, and municipal employees and their families. If you do not see your plan listed, call us — we will tell you where you stand, and self-pay is always an option.

We verify your benefits before your first visit. When you book, send us your plan name and member ID and our team confirms your coverage, expected copay, and any deductible that applies — before you are seen, not after.

What You Will Actually Pay

With in-network insurance, most patients owe a copay at each visit, and your plan pays the rest. If your plan has a deductible you have not met, you may owe more early in the year until it is satisfied — we will tell you what to expect when we verify your benefits. A card is kept on file for copays and fees.

Self-Pay Is Always Welcome

You do not need insurance to be seen. Self-pay patients receive a Good Faith Estimate of costs before treatment, as required by the No Surprises Act. Contact our office at 405-876-8118 or Hello@CobaltPsychiatry.com for current self-pay rates.

Medicare and Medicaid

Cobalt Psychiatry is not enrolled with Medicare and does not bill Medicaid, SoonerCare, Texas Medicaid, or Medicaid managed-care plans. We also cannot accept patients whose only coverage is Medicaid. If you have Medicare, Medicaid, or dual coverage, please tell us before scheduling so we can point you toward accurate options for your situation.

Cancellations and Missed Visits

Appointments missed or cancelled with less than 24 hours notice are charged a $100 fee to the card on file — for new and follow-up visits, telehealth or in person. The fee is not billable to insurance. Documented emergencies are generally waived.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you take Aetna, Cigna, HealthChoice, or Healthcare Highways?
Yes. Cobalt Psychiatry is in-network with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oklahoma, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, Cigna, Healthcare Highways, HealthChoice, UnitedHealthcare, and Optum for adult psychiatry and medication management in Norman, the Oklahoma City metro, and Frisco, TX. Send us your member ID when you book and we verify your benefits before your first visit.

How do I know if you take my specific plan?
Send us your plan name and member ID when you book, or call 405-876-8118 — we check your exact plan and tell you what your visit should cost before you are seen.

What if you are out of network for my plan?
You can still be seen as a self-pay patient with a Good Faith Estimate up front, and we can provide documentation you may submit to your insurer for possible out-of-network reimbursement, depending on your plan.

Does insurance cover telehealth visits?
The plans we accept generally cover telepsychiatry the same as in-person visits. We confirm this for your specific plan during benefit verification.
